By using Redakta.nu, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. This service is provided for informational purposes and should not replace professional security audits.

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Redakta.nu website and security scanning service ("Service") operated by SEKURA.SE ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Redakta provides a free dependency security scanning service that:

  • Analyzes package names from requirements.txt, package.json, and pubspec.yaml files
  • Queries public APIs (PyPI, deps.dev, pub.dev, OSV.dev) for vulnerability data
  • Generates reports based on publicly available security information
  • Provides a "clean" requirements file with flagged packages removed

Note: Redakta acts as a proxy to official package registries and vulnerability databases. We do not maintain our own vulnerability database to ensure accuracy and reduce false positives.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

We expressly disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of vulnerability data
  • Warranties that scanning results will identify all security vulnerabilities

4. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SEKURA.SE AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill
  • Security breaches, hacks, or compromises that occur despite using our Service
  • Damages arising from reliance on scan results or recommendations
  • Damages resulting from third-party services (PyPI, npm, OSV.dev, etc.)

You acknowledge that security scanning tools cannot guarantee the detection of all vulnerabilities, and the absence of flagged issues does not mean your dependencies are completely secure.

5. User Responsibilities

By using our Service, you agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to overload, hack, or disrupt the Service
  • Not use automated tools to excessively query the Service
  • Verify scan results independently before making security decisions
  • Not rely solely on Redakta for your security posture
  • Provide a valid email address if opting to download reports

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-submitted data and third-party data), is owned by SEKURA.SE and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any dependency data you submit. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process this data solely for providing the scanning service.

7. Third-Party Services

Our Service relies on third-party APIs and services including:

  • PyPI (Python Package Index) — Package registry
  • npm Registry — Node.js package registry
  • pub.dev — Dart/Flutter package registry
  • deps.dev (Google) — Dependency insights
  • OSV.dev (Google) — Vulnerability database
  • MailerLite — Email delivery
  • Vercel — Hosting infrastructure

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services.

8. Email Communications

By providing your email to download reports, you consent to receive:

  • Your requested security report
  • Occasional security tips and updates (no more than 1-2 per month)

You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email. We do not sell or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.

9. Affiliate Disclosures

Our Service may contain affiliate links to third-party products and services. If you make a purchase through these links, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

We only recommend products we believe provide value. Affiliate relationships do not influence our security scan results.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
